Parent Welcome September 2025

Welcome back to our new school year...

Dear Parents & Carers,

I would like to warmly welcome you and your children to the new school year at Phoenix Primary School. Whether you are returning or joining us for the first time, we are so pleased to have you as part of our school community.

At Phoenix, our children are at the heart of everything we do. We are proud to be a diverse, inclusive school, where every child is supported to succeed and feel valued. Our school motto, “Where we rise to the challenge”, reflects the way we work together to overcome challenges and celebrate success—both in learning and in life.

This year, we will be focusing on our values of resilience, responsibility, kindness, and ambition. These values guide us each day in the way we learn, play, and support one another. I would encourage you to talk about them at home too, so that together we can help our children grow in character as well as in knowledge.

I would also like to share some updates about our leadership and pastoral team:

- Miss El-Saiegh will be acting as our Deputy Headteacher.

- Mrs Ainsworth will be Phase Leader for Lower School (Years 1, 2 & 3).

- Mr Shaw will be Phase Leader for Upper School (Years 4, 5 & 6).

- Mrs Barlow will continue in her role as SENDCo and will also remain leading our SEND Unit.

- Mrs Cowan will continue in her role as EYFS Lead and has an additional role managing pupil attendance alongside Miss Hathaway.

- Miss Morris and Mrs Kavanagh are our Mental Health and THRIVE Leads, supporting the wellbeing of our pupils and families.

We are also delighted to welcome new staff who have joined our Phoenix family this year. They bring a wealth of experience, energy, and enthusiasm, and we know they will make a wonderful contribution to our school community.

If you require any information or need to speak to someone regarding your child, please contact the school office to arrange an appointment with the appropriate member of staff. We believe that school should be a place of happiness and love for every child. By working closely with families, we can ensure that Phoenix continues to be a place where children feel safe, confident, and inspired to achieve their very best.

Thank you for your continued support. I look forward to working with you this year as we begin this exciting new chapter together.

Warm regards,

Mr. Kelly
