Safer Internet Week 2025!

Phoenix Primary School celebrates Safer Internet Day with a week of activities.

This year’s Safer Internet Week has been a huge success at Phoenix! Students across all year groups participated in a range of activities aimed at promoting online safety.

The week kicked off with Year 6 delivering an informative assembly on Monday, where they shared key tips and advice on how to stay safe online. The students did an excellent job speaking to the rest of the school, highlighting the importance of protecting personal information and being kind online.

Year 3 got creative by designing eye-catching posters about staying safe on the internet. Their artwork showcased a variety of important online safety messages, which will be displayed around the school as a reminder to everyone.

Year 1 took part in an interactive discussion about receiving messages online. They compared these messages to their emotion cards, helping them understand how different messages can make them feel and how to respond appropriately.

Year 4 watched the Internet Legends national assembly, which provided useful insights into the world of online safety through engaging and relatable content. The assembly gave students a better understanding of how to spot fake news and stay safe while having fun online.

Meanwhile, the Glow Worms explored the devices they use at home and discussed their experiences with technology. They heard about the importance of asking for an adult’s help when using devices to ensure their online safety.

If parents or carers need more information about staying safe online and the work we have been completing in school, there is more information found on the Safer Internet Tips for parents link below:

Safer Internet Week was an exciting and educational experience for all involved, and it’s clear that our children now have a greater understanding of how to navigate the online world safely. We look forward to continuing these important conversations throughout the year!
